Raising Awareness

We work with and for Carers

With the Oxford University Hospitals we created the Commitment to Carers and raised awareness of carers in hospitals.

Carers co-created the new carers pathway that came into place on 1 April 2021.

Carers helped us create Welcome to My World

Carers Oxfordshire had an amazing opportunity to work with an up-and-coming film director Charlie Hewitt.  Charlie has helped up put together a short film to help raise awareness for carers.

The quote Welcome to My World came from a carer during first lockdown, for some carers life didn’t change much, lockdown felt like everyday life and apart from the news they may not have noticed a difference. We wanted to compare the experience of lock down with a carer’s everyday life. ‘Welcome to my World’ was made using carer’s experiences, it will be used to help people/professionals to understand, to be aware of your role in society and the need to support you by recognising and being aware of carers and what you do.

The film can be viewed here along with other films made for carers – Our Youtube Channel
