What happens next?
We will contact you to have a first conversation. We will ask you about yourself, information that will help us to ensure we can contact you.
We will ask if you need any specific help or someone to support you during the carers assessment. If you need an interpreter or have a sensory difficulty or condition that makes it difficult for you to make or understand decisions, we will ask you if you know someone who can help and if not, we will make plans to get someone to help.
Together we will talk about your situation to get an idea of what support you might need.
We will then arrange with you how to do the assessment such as where, when and using what method.
Usually this would be enough information to go forward and start the assessment – this could be on the same day if you are able to or we will arrange to come back to you to complete it.
