Carers Trust: Recognise carers’ right to a break

Carers Trust are running a campaign calling on the Government to recognise carers’ right to have a break from their caring responsibilities.

The campaign is asking for unpaid carers to be given a legal right to a break, better support, and proper funding to make this a reality — all vital steps to help carers maintain their health and continue their valuable role.

The video below shares unpaid carers’ stories about the simple things they miss — like going to a dance class, having a lie-in, or just getting out more — because they can’t take a break from caring.

Remember, here at Carers Oxfordshire, we can also help unpaid carers access discounted leisure facilities to support personal goals, opportunities for breaks to provide much-needed rest, and subsidised counselling sessions to promote wellbeing.
