Have your say: Share your experience of caring

Carers UK is inviting unpaid carers and former carers across the UK to take part in their State of Caring survey 2026.

Last year, more than 10,500 carers from across the country shared their experiences, helping to build a clearer picture of what life is like for unpaid carers. These insights are used to help influence decision-makers, shape campaigns and improve support for carers.

By sharing your experiences, you can help make sure the challenges and realities of caring are understood by Government, health and care services, employers and organisations supporting carers.

Last year’s responses have helped Carers UK influence national conversations about the issues that matter most to carers. The findings have contributed to work around the future of health and social care, support for carers, Carer’s Allowance, paid carer’s leave, pensions and the financial impact of caring.

The results have also informed reports and policy briefings and have been featured in national media, helping to raise awareness of the realities of caring and ensuring carers’ voices are heard by decision-makers.

The survey covers topics including health and wellbeing, finances, work and the impact of caring on everyday life. It takes around 30 minutes to complete, although you can skip questions if you’re short on time.

The survey closes at 11.59pm on Sunday 9th August.
