Trish Heron: Carers Adviser

Trish is our Carers Adviser working in the South and the Vale areas of Oxfordshire. She joined us in November 2023 having been a locality manager in Dementia Oxfordshire for 4 years as well as an adviser there and in the Alzheimer’s Society since 2015. She previously worked on a one-to-one basis with children in a primary school setting delivering play therapy and SEND sessions.

Trish holds a Level 3 Diploma in Dementia Care and is currently studying for a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Health & Social Care. She represents us in the Oxfordshire Dementia Action Alliance and is part of the League of Friends Committee for Bicester Community Hospital.

Trish has lived experience as a carer for her Dad who had vascular dementia and passed away in 2023. She now cares for her Mum who is 81 and is Registered Severely Sight Impaired/Blind.

“Mum relies on my care to support her independent living. Her vision loss has affected her confidence and made her feel more vulnerable – she is unable to go anywhere without me. I do all her admin and add an extra layer of support to enable her to live well and be active in her home and in the community”.

“I am passionate about supporting people to enjoy purposeful activity and live life to the full.”

She works Wednesdays to Fridays 8.30am to 5pm.
