Carers course – Creative Writing Fiction Part 2
In this series of creative writing courses, the emphasis is on getting everyone to have a go at writing in every session. The focus is on developing your confidence and abilities, as well as providing opportunities to connect with others in a safe and friendly space and having fun as a group.
This course is delivered Online using Zoom.

Course Outcomes
Free writing forms the basis of this investigation into different writing techniques, proving you with the opportunity to have a go at producing a piece of writing in every session.
The course will include many of the following, but content can be adapted according to the interests of the group, and we can go into greater depth following on from Part 1:
• Using writing prompts to get started.
• Descriptive writing.
• Narrative writing.
• Writing from different perspectives.
• Writing short stories.
• Structuring writing.
• Language techniques.
• Exploring different genres.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
• identify how to use writing prompts to get started
• demonstrate different writing techniques to produce a piece of writing
• explore different genres

This course is part of ‘A Carers Journey’ – a series of workshops and courses created for carers in partnership with Carers Oxfordshire and Abingdon & Witney College.
It is available free for carers age 19 or over, who support someone living in Oxfordshire.
